Scouting the TET (Netherlands) 2016.

The TET, short for Trans Europe Trail, is destined to become a sibling of the TAT, the Trans America Trail. The TAT is a route from one side of the US to the other, mainly unpaved. It's early days yet, but people in different parts of Europe, mostly members of the Adventure Rider forum, are working on it.
I volunteered to scout the Dutch part of the TET. I had explored some parts in the east of the Netherlands before, alone and in groups, and from the tracks I collected I built a provisional route from Groningen to Limburg, roughly following the German border.
It's impossible to build such a route without including turmac, at least I wasn't able to do so, but I think it will be a pleasant ride thru the nicest parts of the Netherlands. I used a heavy Transalp to scout the TET over here, and given decent weather it's easy to do. If the weather is (or recently was) bad it's a bit harder and you need more skills and/or a lighter bike...
In addition to the track I supplied waypoints and routes by which one can navigate without or in combination with the track.

If you'd like to learn more about the TET visit the Adventure Rider forum and look for 'TET' in 'Regional Forums' 'Europe'.
